Alfred Lawson Jr. Multipurpose Center and Teaching Gymnasium
Opened: 2009
The 135,000 square foot facility was completed in 2009, and is a shared occupancy structure on the FAMU Campus. Named for longtime legislator and FAMU graduate Al Lawson Jr., the center houses the Department of Health Physical Education and Recreation, men's and women's basketball, volleyball and the basketball coaches offices.
Features:Â Seating capacity of 9,639, classrooms, a dance studio, a computer lab with 24 workstations, a TV Production room, a media workroom, wireless internet, a hydrotherapy area, an examination and treatment area and a rehabilitation area.
