Paul Dana Walker Arena

Walker Arena is home to the men’s and women’s basketball teams and the volleyball team and has seating for up to 2,000 fans. The first game in the arena was played on November 3, 1983 and over the years the facility has been the site of many thrilling basketball and volleyball contests.

In 2005, Lee completed a project to upgrade the facilities at Walker Arena and an additional 500 seats were added to the arena’s north elevation in the form of a new mezzanine level. Additionally, the lobby was tripled in size to accommodate the growing number of students and fans attending athletic events. In the spring of 2017 700-plus chair-back seats were added to the lower boxes on each sideline along with brand new bleachers in the end zones and upper reserve. In 2023 a brand new hardwood floor was installed making Walker Arena one of the premiere athletic venues in the Gulf South Conference.

Walker Arena was constructed in memory of former Lee basketball player, Paul Dana Walker As he returned home from a Lee College Homecoming game on November 19, 1980, Paul and his wife were involved in a fatal automobile accident. Paul Dana Walker was killed instantly and his wife, Julie, suffered multiple injuries but survived the horrible collision.
