The Gil E. Steinke Physical Education Center-Kingsville Hampton Inn Court is the host facility for the TAMUK men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball teams. Steinke was the Javelinas Athletic Director and Head Football Coach from 1952-76, is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame, as well as the TAMUK Hall of Fame.

The Steinke Center/Kingsville Hampton Inn Court has seating for more than 4,000 fans and was the host facility for the 2001 NCAA South Central Regional Women’s Basketball Regional, as well as a Lone Star Conference Basketball Tournament game three times, including the 2003-04 season.389

Kingsville Hampton Inn Court was also home to the 2006 Lone Star Conference Crossover Volleyball Tournament.

The facility has been a house of horrors for opponents as the Javelina men's basketball team has a 54-18 record in home games over the past five years. The Javs have won at least 10 games in each of the last five seasons. The Javelinas have had one losing season at the Steinke Center in 15 years and are 135-53 (71.8%).

From the 2001-02 season to early in the 2002-03 season, the Javelinas won 14 straight home games. The Javs won the final nine home contests of the 2003-04 season.
