Gene Polisseni Center

The Gene Polisseni Center, located on the south side of the Student Alumni Union in the heart of the RIT campus, is the home for men’s and women’s hockey games. While it serves primarily as a venue for ice hockey, the arena is a multi-purpose facility.

  About the Facility

The 112,400 square foot multi-purpose facility includes:

  • 4,000 seats and additional standing room space for a total of 4,300 fans.
  • Reserved seating areas and general admission seating are available.
  • Club seating section is exclusively located behind RIT’s Team bench.
  • Club Lounge: An upscale, full-service hospitality area featuring a full buffet and cash bar at each game.
  • Six luxury suites and a VIP player experience box next to the RIT Team bench.
  • Two full-service concession stands and multiple mobile kiosks throughout the concourse.
  • RIT Athletics Hall of Fame highlighting RIT's proud athletics history.

 Club Seating and Club Lounge

The Gene Polisseni Center features approximately 275 Club seats in the section located directly behind the RIT Team bench. Guests who purchase tickets within this section have access to the Club Lounge.

The Club Lounge is an exclusive full-service hospitality area, featuring a cash bar and buffet-style dinner. Tables are available for guests before and during the game. A Suite or Club level ticket is required to enter this premier area.

There are two full service concession stands, located throughout the concourse. Multiple mobile kiosks are also featured throughout the concourse.

The Legacy of Gene Polisseni 
Gene Polisseni, a prominent businessman, philanthropist, and avid sports fan, is now intertwined with the future of hockey at RIT. Gene Polisseni, who founded the Polisseni Foundation with his wife, Wanda, served as vice president of marketing at Paychex until his death in 2001. Since that time, the Polisseni Foundation has focused its support toward improving quality-of-life issues related to education, human services, and civic improvement across the Rochester region.

RIT Athletics Hall of Fame
The arena features a bright and spacious lobby focused on RIT spirit. The Hall of Fame is located in the main atrium and features beautiful displays highlighting RIT’s Athletics Hall of Fame inductees and our proud athletics history. The Hall of Fame is named in honor of Marty and Dolly Schultz, parents of alumnus Steve Schultz ’89. Steve and his wife, Vicki ’99, made a generous gift that helped kick-off the Gene Polisseni Center fundraising campaign.

Video Board
Trans-Lux Corp. and RIT alumnus J.M. Allain ’03 (multidisciplinary studies) issued a $1 million commitment to the campaign. Allain, Trans-Lux president and CEO, donated two high-definition video boards to the arena.
