Overview
Between 2020 and 2021 Eastern's historic gymnasium underwent a complete renovation and emerged as The Nest. The facility is home for both Eastern Basketball and Volleyball Programs.
With seating for just under 500 fans, The Nest provides an intimate environment for competition and has resulted in a clear home-court advantage for Eastern teams. With the exception of the 2021 season where fans were not permitted, as of December 2023, Eastern Men's Basketball has gone 64-18 at home since 2016. After winning the 2023 MAC Commonwealth Championship, Eastern Women's Volleyball is on a 22 match home winning streak and is 250-20 at home since the start of the 1997 season.
New bleachers, scoreboards, lighting, an upgraded sound system, and a video board were installed in 2020. Team rooms for indoor teams were added in 2021, and additional team rooms were built in 2023.
