As part of Active Stirling’s integral Active Schools Programme, funded by Sportscotland, our aim is to support Stirling Schools to participate in sport and physical activity, to give every school child in Stirling the opportunity to be active through extra-curricular activity and to create pathways to activities in their local community. We will support people to lead activities for children including parent or community volunteers, young people as sports leaders and school staff.
More than 150 Primary 4 pupils enthusiastically took to the courts at The PEAK, Stirling Sports Village. The event proved to be a resounding success, with a vibrant atmosphere permeating the venue. Students from Riverside, Allan’s, Gargunnock, Fallin, Braehead, and East Plean Primary Schools revelled in a morning filled with fun, learning new skills.
The format was designed to develop key social skills such as teamwork, communication, and sportsmanship, and build confidence as they enjoyed developing skills for Tennis.
At the heart of the event's success, S3 students from Balfron High School generously lent their support to Active Stirling’s Active Schools team and Modern Apprentices, contributing significantly to the smooth execution of the event. Gratitude is extended to Tennis Scotland for their invaluable assistance in training the S3 leaders.
